What to see in Cantabria

Mount Corona

It has a privileged location, thanks to its proximity to the sea and to different towns in the area. You can do various routes, both on foot and by bike. It has two hermitages, San Antonio and San Esteban. The latter is the closest to our accommodation, it can be accessed on foot (2.5 km) or by car, through the town of La Hayuela (9km), and has spectacular views of Cape Oyambre.

Comillas

Coastal town located on the western coast of Cantabria. It has different modernist monuments such as El Palacio de Sobrellano, El Capricho de Gaudí and La Universidad Pontificia. It has a small beach a few meters from the center of town.

Oyambre Natural Park

Natural area formed by beaches, green meadows, estuaries, rich fauna and beautiful views of the Picos de Europa. The beach of Oyambre and the beach of Merón, both of great length, and their proximity to Monte Corona stand out.

San Vicente de la Barquera

A fishing village located on the western coast of Cantabria, whose port continues to have a great fishing activity. It has different beaches of great length on the outskirts of the urban nucleus. In the center of the town its old town stands out, the most significant monument is the King’s Castle.

Santillana del Mar

One of the most beautiful towns in Cantabria, also known for being the place where the Altamira Cave is located, the most famous rock art work in the world. Along its cobbled streets you can enjoy a rich history, its most representative monument is the collegiate church of Santa Juliana.

The Soplao

Considered a great geological wonder internationally thanks to the great diversity of eccentric formations. These give it a beauty and spectacularity that make it a unique cave.

Bárcena Mayor

Rustic village located in the Saja reserve. Its masonry houses, typical of the area, make it one of the most beautiful towns in Cantabria, and at the same time, one of the most beautiful in Spain. Ideal place to enjoy a good mountain stew.

Cabárceno

Located in an old iron extraction mine. It stands out for the state of semi-freedom in which the great variety of species from the five continents that live there live. In addition, it has a cable car that allows you to observe the park from another point of view.
